GHETTO KUMBÉ + OKIII
DEN TURKISE HAVE
Ghetto Kumbé has stepped on big stages with their Afrofuturistic project that invokes dance spirits and audiences from all over the world // Okiii is colourful, playful and quirky club music. With sexy basslines, high energy beats and a laid back and confident rap flow, the trio takes you to their version of the ultimate night out.
GHETTO KUMBÉ
The trio’s music blends electronic soundscapes with powerful Afro-Colombian and Afro-Caribbean rhythms inspired by African musical traditions. The result is an intense and highly danceable fusion of ritual, club culture, and political consciousness.
Their self-titled debut album Ghetto Kumbé (2020), co-produced with British producer The Busy Twist, draws inspiration from social movements and contemporary challenges in Colombia. The music moves between deep vocals, ancestral chants, and energetic club rhythms, carried by themes of hope, resilience, and change.
Ghetto Kumbé is particularly renowned for its electrifying live performances, where music, visual elements, and futuristic masks merge into a captivating concert experience. The group has performed at major international stages and festivals including Glastonbury, Roskilde Festival, and Fusion Festival.
OKIII
Okiii is a new trio consisting of three musicians from Aarhus’ music and club scene: Mikas Bøgh, Helen Namdori, and Jakob De Place. Mikas and Jakob are both graduates of the soloist programme at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg. Over the years, they have collaborated extensively — first in Mali with their former band Faratuben, and later in Denmark with Akabanga. Helen actually holds a degree in architectural technology and construction management, but since 2022 she has been an active part of Aarhus’ music scene as a singer, DJ, and producer — including through the DJ collectives Pana Radio and VVE.
Okiii has existed since May 2025 and began as a reaction against overly trivial dance music. In a small studio above A-Huset at Institut for (X), the trio started producing beats together. Their ambition was to create euphoric club music capable of generating the kind of dance floors they themselves miss and long for.
The band played their first concert at Spot Festival on May 2, 2026, and in August they will release their debut single!!
