Jembaa Groove will launch their 2026 tour with an invigorated lineup and a collection of brand-new tracks, slated for release in spring 2026. This new chapter sees the band deepening their connection with Lagos’s vibrant Afro-Fusion scene. Collaborating with Nigeria’s renowned Highlife revivalists The Cavemen, they’ve crafted a modern interpretation of Highlife, Jazz, and Afrobeats, enriched further by guest appearances from Malian icon Fatoumata Diawara, rising Nigerian vocalist Tim Lyre, and London-based soul artist Azekel.

Following a successful year in 2025, which included the band’s first headline U.S. tour, sold-out shows across the EU, numerous festival appearances (Lowlands, MTN Bushfire, Xjazz and many more)and a celebrated KEXP live session, Jembaa Groove enters 2026 with growing global recognition and artistic momentum.

As the international Afro-Jazz movement continues to gain strength, Jembaa Groove is positioning itself as one of its most vital and influential ambassadors. Their dynamic fusion of West African traditions with contemporary styles places them at the forefront of this evolving genre, expanding its reach and reimagining its future.

AFRICAN FOOTPRINT FOUNDATION

African Footprint Foundation works to establish an ensemble of both master drummers and aspiring musicians, ready to perform at events and participate in meaningful projects. Their goal is also to create an inspiring environment and opportunities for developing musicians and students interested in African music, and to give all citizens of Aarhus the chance to engage with African music and dance.
