SUPER PARQUET + TRUCS

This evening, TRUCS and Super Parquet invite you into a sensory musical universe where percussion, electronics, and folk traditions merge. From TRUCS’ vibrant sonic world, inspired by shepherding traditions from the Pyrenees, to Super Parquet’s pulsating, psychedelic current of repetition, drones, and trance, the evening unfolds as a journey between ritual, cultural heritage, and experimentation.

SUPER PARQUET

Super Parquet cultivates a rare hybrid of times, machines and cultures. With a strong sense of celebration and trance, the band from Clermont-Ferrand moves within a sonic landscape that merges the oldest musical pulse with sharp avant-garde expression. Their music does not present itself as a display of skill, but as a psychedelic state – a form of ultra-modern shamanism where earthly burdens dissolve and new horizons unfold.

On the EP GOSHEN (2025), this sense of directionless exploration becomes even more pronounced. The three long tracks – UBAC, NORSKA and PASSE DE GOSHEN – reference both real and imagined landscapes the band has traversed. These geographies become musical journeys that lend their sound a distinctive depth and weight.

Rooted in the traditions of the Massif Central, Super Parquet brings together instruments such as cabrette, dronebox and banjo with untamed electronic setups. The result is a raw and singular blend of acoustics, loops and sonic transformations, guiding the audience into a deep trance – where repetition, drones and micro-variations open up an endless, sensory musical dialogue.

The bells worn around the necks of animals in a herd are tuned in relation to one another. What might sound like chaotic ringing actually forms a unique collective sound, allowing the shepherd to recognize their herd in the mountains (here in the Béarn region) by its distinct resonance. The bells are selected and arranged to create a living orchestra with its own signature sound. But is it music?

With TRUCS, Alexis Toussaint and Romain Colautti explore these cultural and heritage-bearing objects, engaging with their musicality while honoring their symbolic meaning.

In form, the project revolves around a distinctive percussion setup: two prepared drums side by side, two stringed tambourines, a first set of bells attached to each musician’s feet, and a second set suspended like a tree – a floating herd. All elements are processed electronically to create different spatial dimensions and to add a harmonic layer to the percussion (inspired by music from the Pyrenees).
