Azizzi Romeo is a Jamaican singer who grew up in Linstead, Jamaica, as the son of roots reggae legend Max Romeo. Music has been part of his life from an early age, and at just eight years old, he entered the music industry as the lead singer of the duo Rominal alongside his brother. He later toured internationally with his father before beginning to forge his own musical path.

Today, Azizzi Romeo carries the conscious roots reggae tradition into the present, blending the warm grooves and heavy basslines of 1970s roots with electronic textures and introspective songwriting.

On his debut album Signs Of The Time, he joins forces with Guiding Star Orchestra to create music driven by a powerful message of peace, community and hope in troubled times. The album also features one of Max Romeo’s final vocal recordings before his passing, adding another chapter to a musical legacy that Azizzi Romeo both carries with him and continues on his own terms.

At turkis, Azizzi Romeo will perform a live dub set with Morten McCoy and Steve Borth II of Guiding Star Orchestra on Roots Revival Sound System. The crew behind Roots Revival Sound System will also provide a heavyweight selection of roots, culture, dubwise and reggae both before and after the live set.
